BPO jobs among those preferred by Generation Z

About 22% of Generation Zs, those born in the mid-1990s to early-2000s, prefer to work in the back-office BPO sector, according to the latest survey by online recruitment agency Jobstreet Philippines. However, advertising, marketing, promotions and public relations came top in the survey, with 25% of the respondents choosing to work in these fields. Paul Tuazon, Jobstreet Philippines sales manager, said Generation Zs value the advertising and PR industry because it connects to the fun and collaborative drive that they are looking for.
The report also found that Generation Zs also want to enter the field of accounting, audit and tax services (23%), and government (21%). Tuazon said the findings for government were surprising, adding that government roles are preferred by Generation Zs and millennials because these provide stability. He also explained that the interest in accounting is because of the sector’s higher base pay for new graduates compared to those offered by new industries.
