BPO sector accounts for 40% of total employment in Bacolod City
The business process outsourcing (BPO) sector employs 40% of the total workers in the top 10 industries in Bacolod City. This was according to Eileen Camarillo-Go, hirer marketing manager of JobStreet.com Philippines, during her Bacolod Job Trends and Salary Report presentation. The report showed that the BPO industry is the leading provider of white-collar jobs in Bacolod City, followed by retail at 8%, manufacturing at 6%, and banking and real estate, both at 5%. The 10 hottest specializations employed by the BPO industry in Negros Island Region and Western Visayas are customer service, network and database administration, technical and helpdesk support, telesales and telemarketing, and nursing.
