Filipino BPOs upbeat on China prospect

Local business process outsourcing (BPO) companies are upbeat on the government’s stance to strengthen ties with China. With concerns over the Philippines changing relationship with the US, Philippine outsourcing firms are looking to diversify their client base to include China. According to Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) chairman Danilo Reyes, China will require outsourced operations for software and game development and animation. The Philippines, he said, can deliver these services for Chinese clients. The recently launched six-year industry roadmap calls on BPO companies to tap other markets aside from the United States.
