Foundever boosts Palawan BPO sector with jobs, training
PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES — Foundever, previously Sitel Group, is driving growth in Palawan’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, aiming to boost employment and skill sets in the region.
At the recent Digital Careers Expo 2023, Foundever Senior Site Director Jen Joloc emphasized the company’s role in innovating employment models.
“It is here in Palawan that we started the part-time model and the hub model. If you’re a student or a part time worker you can work with us. We also have moms that stay at home while [their children are at school],” Joloc stated.
In collaboration with local universities and government agencies, Foundever also developed workforce programs, offering pathways for part-time workers to earn higher roles in the company.
Additionally, Foundever rolls out summer projects that employ approximately 70 students.
The firm also initiated the hub model during the pandemic, allowing employees to work from community computer shops to address connectivity challenges. This work arrangement has since been adopted nationwide.
Reschill Mesias a learning and sourcing manager for Foundever, highlighted the firm’s community focus by welcoming other BPO and ICT companies that want to establish an office in Palawan.
“Rather, we are not just focusing on hiring but also to give back to the community. The more [that we have] BPO competitors, then better for everyone,” Mesias added.
Aside from boosting employment and upskilling opportunities for its workforce, Founderver is also shaping up its AI strategy by hiring Guillaume Laporte as its new Chief AI (Artificial Intelligence) Officer. Laporte will work cross-functionally to develop AI projects, mitigate risks, and promote ethical and responsible tech use across the organization.
