FourNet buys Glasgow CX firm SVL to build $87Mn revenue business

- FourNet has acquired Glasgow-headquartered SVL Business Solutions.
- The combined business has more than 230 people and over 450 customers.
- Combined revenues are around £65 million ($87Mn).

MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM — Customer experience and AI transformation partner FourNet has acquired SVL Business Solutions, a Glasgow-headquartered contact center and customer experience specialist.
The deal creates a combined business with more than 230 people, over 450 customers and revenues of around £65 million ($87Mn). The two businesses have worked alongside each other for nearly a decade.
A specialist in regulated markets
FourNet announced the acquisition in a press release on Oct. 15.
SVL has a team of 41 employees. Over the past five years, its expertise in interaction recording, analytics and workforce management has broadened into wider customer experience transformation and AI.
Its customers operate across financial services, utilities, public safety and other enterprise markets, where reliability, regulatory compliance and continuity of service are essential.
Both businesses serve many of the same sectors and work with many of the same technology partners, including NiCE.
The deal expands FourNet’s customer base in financial services, an area of growth for the business.
“We have known SVL and worked alongside its people for nearly a decade, so we know exactly what we are getting,” said Richard Pennington, co-founder and CEO of FourNet.
“Organisations are now moving AI out of pilots and into everyday customer service. They need help proving its value, redesigning the customer journeys and processes around it, and implementing it safely,” he said.
Fifth deal since 2020
SVL customers will continue to work with the same people while gaining access to FourNet’s wider team and capabilities.
“Joining FourNet protects those strengths while giving our customers a much larger team and a broader range of capabilities behind them,” said David Kindness, CEO of SVL Business Solutions.
The purchase is FourNet’s fifth acquisition since 2020, said James Painter, partner at Palatine, FourNet’s private equity backer since 2021.
“SVL represents a highly strategic acquisition for FourNet given the complementary customer base and technology partnerships,” Painter said.
Founded in Manchester in 2005, FourNet counts Haier, Target Group, MoneyPlus, the Cabinet Office and NHS ambulance trusts among its customers.
It combines consultancy, customer experience and AI transformation expertise with cybersecurity and operational capabilities.
What CX buyers should weigh
For financial services firms and other regulated buyers, the deal folds a contact center specialist into a larger partner as AI moves into everyday service.
Companies running call center operations can ask how named specialists and service levels carry over after an acquisition.
Buyers planning customer experience programs can compare providers on the top BPO companies worldwide list.
