A new business process outsourcing (BPO) firm in Iloilo city – set on the Philippines’ Panay island – is looking to hire 1,000 nurses, according to Jerry Treñas, the local mayor. The city chief said several other investors had also expressed interest in establishing businesses in the city, adding that many BPO companies wanted to setup in the area.
According to Treñas, the new jobs created by the incoming BPO firms will ensure that local graduates no longer have a problem when it comes to finding suitable jobs.
