PH slips to 18th at Tholons Digital Nations list
Top 50 Digital Nations list. The index, which is released annually, lists attractive destinations for technology, digital and innovation, and business process management.
Metro Manila and Cebu City also slid the Tholons’ Top 100 Super Cities list. From last year’s second place, Metro Manila fell to the 8th spot. On the other hand, Cebu City took a nosedive from last year’s 12th spot to this year’s 52nd.
Despite this, the Philippines received a 2.34 score for diversity and inclusion, one of the highest scores for this area.
The Top Five Digital Nations named are: United States (up from 3rd place in 2020); India (down from 1st place); Canada (up from 4th place); Germany (up from 35th); and Singapore (up from 9th). Further, Toronto, Singapore, Bangalore, San Francisco, and Dublin were named as Top Five Super Cities.
The Philippines’ Southeast Asian neighbors also slipped the list: Vietnam (25th from 13th), Malaysia (33rd from 26th), Thailand (35th from 27th), and Indonesia (50th from 20th).
