SPi global to acquire SPS
SPi Global announced that it has agreed to acquire Scientific Publishing Services (SPS) from research and education publisher Springer Nature Group. SPi Global is a content technology and content solutions enterprise that offers services and subject matter expertise to various industries, while SPS is an end-to-end solutions provider for print and digital publishers offering services to science, technology, and medical (STM) as well as humanities and social sciences (HSS) book and journal publishers.
Aside from publishing services, SPS also offers knowledge process outsourcing for finance and marketing services, as well as technology solutions. According to Ratan Datta, SPi Global’s president and CEO, the acquisition is in line with its plan to become the definitive leader in the content technology and knowledge service industries, and will boost its services in the publishing industry through highly impactful technology, diversified talent, and innovative end-to-end service offerings. After the acquisition is completed at the end of December, SPS’s six delivery centers in Chennai and Trichy, India, will join SPi Global’s multi-geographic presence in the Philippines, where its headquarters is located, as well as India, the US, Vietnam, Nicaragua, China, the UK, and Singapore.
