Sykes Adds 2,200 Employees

American multinational BPO major Sykes opened its sixth facility in the Philippines, augmenting an already strong presence.

It already provides employment to 15,000 professionals, and its latest addition increases their headcount to 17,200. Located at the Ayala’s ATC Corporate Center in Metro South, their facility encompasses five floors of the building.

Justo Porfirio Yusingco of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority was present at the inauguration. Sykes Senior Vice-President for the Asia-Pacific region Mike Henderson expressed his gratitude to the Government for their support. He said that the Philippines understood that they were building a business of global standards, and more importantly, the clients they worked with.

A favorable business climate, made possible by the Government, is what has helped the BPO industry to flourish and employ more than 1.3 million Filipinos. Henderson would know – it was exactly 20 years ago that Sykes began their operations in the Philippines, with a modest headcount of 14. They subsequently expanded to Cebu and other locations within the National Capital Region.

A signing bonus of P30,000 is being offered to anyone who wishes to join Sykes.
