TalentBurst sells IT, SLED staffing to Epitec

MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES — TalentBurst has sold its information technology (IT), Engineering, and State, Local and Education (SLED) government staffing operations to Epitec, a Michigan-based staffing firm.
The asset sale transfers TalentBurst’s IT and engineering client relationships, consultants, and employees to Epitec, a women-owned firm headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, approaching its 50th year in operation.
TalentBurst retains its employer of record (EOR) platform, healthcare staffing, and managed service provider (MSP) operations under its existing brand.
TalentBurst refocuses on core outsourcing platforms post-sale
TalentBurst, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Boston, built its IT and engineering staffing business over 24 years before initiating the divestiture.
The sale lets TalentBurst concentrate on three retained units: TalentBurst Connect, TalentBurst Healthcare & Life Sciences, and TalentProcure. Epitec also absorbs TalentBurst’s SLED government staffing practice, adding public-sector client relationships to its existing commercial base.
“At the same time, this strategic divestiture enables TalentBurst to accelerate our investment in TalentBurst Connect, TalentBurst Healthcare & Life Sciences, and TalentProcure, as we execute on our next phase of growth,” said Brad Talwar, CEO and Co-Founder of TalentBurst.
Epitec’s acquisition strengthens IT and public-sector reach
Epitec, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, places technology and engineering professionals across automotive, manufacturing, and financial services clients.
The acquisition of TalentBurst’s IT and SLED operations substantially broadens Epitec’s addressable market and public-sector client base. Epitec’s women-owned status positions it to serve government clients through dedicated public-sector procurement programs.
“As Epitec approaches 50 years in staffing, this acquisition marks a strategic and highly complementary expansion for our company. TalentBurst has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional talent and service, making this a natural fit for both organizations,” said Rebecca Bray, President of Epitec.
IT and engineering staffing divestitures have become a strategic lever for workforce firms seeking to narrow their focus and direct capital toward higher-growth service lines.
TalentBurst’s decision to exit direct IT and engineering placement while retaining its EOR, healthcare, and MSP operations reflects a broader shift toward platform-based outsourcing models.
For business process outsourcing (BPO) providers, the deal illustrates how specialty staffing firms are restructuring around managed services, healthcare, and compliance-intensive verticals to capture more durable recurring revenue.
