Teleperformance Philippines remains committed to equality
Business process outsourcing firm Teleperformance Philippines has signified its commitment to acknowledging diversity with the signing of the so-called United Nations LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex) Standards for Business. The company explained that the move is meant to show its stance in promoting the principle of equality and right to freedom of all, in consonance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The company, in a letter of support sent to the UN High Commissioner, noted that as signatory to the UN Global Compact (UNGC) since May 2012, it remains steadfast in upholding the different human rights of men and women. According to its press statement, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights also applies equally to the rights of the LGBTI community.
