Teleperformance to add over 1,5K jobs in new Guyana facility in 2022

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) giant Teleperformance is planning to source a new facility in Guyana to accommodate over 1,500 additional employees in 2022.
During the company’s fifth-anniversary celebration, Teleperformance’s CEO for Guyana and Nicaragua Luis Barretto said that they have “run out of space” to make room for new hires in the firm.
Baretto noted that they are “proactively sourcing for a second facility” with about “600 to 800 additional workstations” so that they could generate more jobs for locals.
Currently, Teleperformance has around 1,200 employees in Guyana.
The CEO also claimed that the company had created a ‘new business model’ for their Guyanese operations. This new model is expected to secure contracts from at least 30 American companies.
Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh said that Teleperformance’s success in Guyana indicates the country’s “vast potential” in the outsourcing industry.
