In what is viewed as a contradiction to the new US administration’s anti-outsourcing stance, President Donald Trump’s pick for labor secretary, Andrew Puzder, is actually an outsourcing client of the Philippines. Puzder’s company, CKE Restaurant Holdings, outsources its technology department to the Philippines, according to a filing with the Labor Department. A company spokesman also acknowledged that CKE continues to use the IT operation in the Philippines. It was in 2010 when CKE started outsourcing its restaurant IT division to the Philippines. In a statement to The Associated Press, CKE said it was able to improve the quality of service levels to its restaurants by outsourcing the IT function to a firm that employs hundreds of Help Desk specialists.
