- Uzbekistan and the U.S. held their first transport and logistics forum on Sept. 29.
- More than 65 industry representatives attended at the Uzbek Embassy in Washington.
- More than 550 IT Park Uzbekistan members work with the U.S. market.
- Uzbekistan’s Zero Risk program partly reimburses payroll costs for new entrants.
WASHINGTON, D.C., UNITED STATES — Uzbekistan used its first transport and logistics forum with the United States to court American freight and logistics companies, pitching government support, a growing talent pool and business process outsourcing (BPO) services.
More than 65 transport and logistics industry representatives attended the event at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington on Sept. 29.
Back-office services for U.S. freight
The forum was organized with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park Uzbekistan and the Uzbek Embassy in the United States, Trend News Agency reported.
Uzbek companies already provide U.S. transportation and logistics businesses with dispatching, accounting, fleet management and recruitment services.
More than 550 IT Park Uzbekistan members currently work with the U.S. market, according to the organizers.
“The forum provides a direct platform for companies from Uzbekistan and the United States to identify practical opportunities for cooperation and expand service operations supporting the US transport and logistics market,” the organizers said.
Incentives and fraud prevention
Participants were introduced to Uzbekistan’s Zero Risk program, which helps international companies set up or expand in the country with office infrastructure and equipment, recruitment and training, and partial reimbursement of payroll costs.
Business security was another focus, with discussions on fraud prevention, incident response and cooperation between companies, government institutions and law enforcement.
The forum also covered operational risk management and the expansion of logistics services, with participants sharing practical experience and tools to reduce risks for companies operating in the U.S. market.
Government agencies and law enforcement bodies took part alongside transport and logistics companies.
Organizers said the initiative gives U.S. transport and logistics companies the option to use Uzbekistan-based teams for back-office, administrative and operational functions.
Organizers said the forum identified potential areas for further cooperation in logistics, business services and operational support.
The event reflects Uzbekistan’s push to grow its BPO and logistics services sectors and connect local talent with international markets.
For U.S. carriers and brokers, Uzbekistan is emerging as an alternative source of dispatch and back-office support alongside established hubs.
Buyers weighing logistics outsourcing or offshore outsourcing to newer markets should check data security and fraud controls, which the forum itself flagged as a priority.
Firms can benchmark Uzbek providers against established players on the top BPO companies worldwide list.
