Offshore gaming firms lift office space demand
A surge in inquiries from offshore gaming companies has also raised demand for office spaces in the country, according to property consultant Colliers International Philippines. Last year, Colliers said over 80,000 square meters of office space was taken by offshore gaming, with each company requiring 10,000 sq m of BPO space. The office market is poised to deliver a record of more than 800,000 sq m of space this year, after a minor setback in 2016 when the sector suffered some delays. Colliers also believes BPOs will continue to drive the office market with a shift to higher value services and provincial locations envisioned to drive growth.
