Lopez: $6B Japanese investment to create 500,000 jobs

$6 billion worth of investment pledges from Japan are expected to bring in at least 500,000 jobs in the Philippines
The batch of business ventures includes manufacturing, infrastructure, and information and communications technology which was secured by President Rodrigo Duterte’s following his official trip to Japan.
Although the Philippines may have dropped 14 places in World Bank’s survey in terms of ease of doing business, the trade chief said they expect a better score in 2018. The Department of Trade and Industry is also partnering with other agencies to streamline the process of doing business in the Philippines.
