Accenture buys BRIDGE Energy Group
Accenture has purchased Boston-based consulting and systems integration company BRIDGE Energy Group, which offers grid modernization, analytics, and security services to utilities in North America. The acquisition will help Accenture boost its portfolio of end-to-end services for electric transmission and distribution service providers. Stephanie Jamison, a managing director at Accenture who spearheads its transmission and distribution business, said the acquisition will help Accenture meet the rising demand from its utilities clients in the evaluation and application of new and emerging technologies — including advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, the cloud, and blockchain — to develop the grid of the future. Hugo van Nispen, CEO of BRIDGE, said he looks forward to the two companies jointly addressing their clients’ most complex issues through innovation, particularly for grid modernization, reliability, and resiliency. BRIDGE’s workforce has joined the utilities practice of Accenture Resources’ operating group. Van Nispen said that joining forces with Accenture will further allow his firm’s employees to use their skills in achieving more success in serving clients and advancing their careers.
