DOH, J&J to address health among BPO workers
The Department of Health (DOH) and Johnson & Johnson have forged a partnership to address the health concerns of business process outsourcing (BPO) workers. The program seeks to address the health issues affecting the country’s more than 1.3 million BPO workers. Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial said it is imperative to address fully health risks of BPO employees considering that the BPO sector is one of the fastest-growing industries in the country. The BPO Healthcare Program will comprise different activities aimed at ensuring that every BPO agent has access to quality healthcare information. Health problems that were often encountered by employees include headache, fatigue, eye strain, chest and back pain and voice problems.
