Bacolod City continues to attract foreign ICT locators
Bacolod City, ranked 85th in the Tholons International Top 100 Cities in the World for IT Outsourcing, is continuing to attract prospective foreign locators especially from the United Kingdom, Korea and Germany. According to Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, executive director of Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communications Technology (BNEFIT), the city continues to receive investment inquiries from potential foreign markets in Q2 of this year. The potential foreign locators, she added, are interested not just in business process outsourcing but also in other ICT services such as game development, finance and accounting, and healthcare information management. For example, a small BPO firm from UK has initially inquired for application for possible operation in Bacolod, Batapa-Sigue said.
