Davao stakeholders seek to prevent BPO saturation
Business process management (BMP) industry stakeholders in Davao are promoting other provinces and cities in the Davao region as business process outsourcing (BPO) hubs to prevent market saturation in Davao City. As part of efforts to avoid saturating Davao City, the Department of Science and Technology ICT Office, the Information and Communication Technology-Davao, and other industry players are now positioning Mati City in Davao Oriental as an ecotourism ICT destination. Mati City currently has only one IT outsourcing locator, Guel-Bound Web Services. The cities of Tagum and Digos, which have three IT outsourcing companies in each city, are also positioned as a new BPO destination in Davao region.
